Telephone Fraud Alert
The Law Offices of Lee A. Drizin wants to warn Southern Nevada seniors on the latest phone scam:
The Henderson Police Department has received reports of someone impersonating a Henderson Marshal Service official calling and requesting fine money over the phone for failing to respond to a jury summons. Henderson Marshals DO NOT call people regarding jury service. They also DO NOT ask for or collect money over the telephone, but may direct people to the City website to pay fines and clear a warrant.
The Henderson Marshals Service does serve warrants for people wanted on various charges from Henderson Municipal Court and does attempt to contact those individuals by mail and telephone. If you do not have a warrant and do not have unpaid traffic citations, you will not receive a call from Henderson Marshals and should suspect a call of this nature to be fraudulent.
Should you have any questions regarding calls received of this type, you may contact the Henderson Marshal Service at 702-267-3370.
