Long-Term Care Planning: 5 First Steps

As an Elder Law attorney who provides legal services for Nevada seniors and their families, I am always looking to stay informed on the most recent matters that affect caregivers and the loved ones they care for.

I recently read an article on the very informative CaregiverStress.com website that offers valuable suggestions for planning the long-term care of your senior loved ones.

Selecting a long-term care facility can be overwhelming.  Fortunately, there are resources that can help with your selection.  The Better Business Bureau (BBB) can help you determine whether any complaints have been filed against an assisted living facility.  If you are considering a nursing home, you can visit Nursing Home Compare to see how the facility scored on its most recent inspection, and for all types of long-term care facilities, your local long-term care ombudsman is an excellent resource for more information about specific facilities.
